Weatherization
Weatherization is a technique used to seal the building shell or envelope of your home to make it more airtight. Thermodynamic law states that hot air is attracted and flows toward cold air. What this means to you is that during the summer time, hot air from outside is trying to infiltrate into your home and during the winter time, heated indoor air is trying to leak out of your home.
Attic Insulation
Attic insulation is a key factor for the energy efficiency of any home and the comfort level of its inhabitants. It is a thermal resistance layer that resists heat gain from the attic into the home in hot weather or heat loss out of the home in cold weather. Think of attic insulation in terms of a pan placed on top of a hot stove.
Radiant Barrier
Think of Radiant Barrier as shade for your home. As an example, when you walk underneath the shade of a tree during a hot, sunny day you feel cooler not because the air around you is cooler but because the sun is not hitting directly against your skin, transferring radiant heat into your body and making you feel hotter.
Attic Ventilation
Attic ventilation serves two primary purposes: reducing attic temperature during hot weather and reducing attic moisture during cold weather. This moisture is caused by regular household activities such as cooking, showering or laundering which produce water vapors that can become condensed and trapped in your attic, producing damaging mold and mildew.
Duct Sealing
Duct sealing is a crucial ingredient for overall energy efficiency and clean air that is included as part of our weatherization service. Each return and supply vent in your home is sealed to prevent conditioned air from being wasted and blown into the attic instead of your living space, or attic air from being pulled into your duct work through unsealed returns.
Energy Audit
If your bills are blowing over the roof, and if you think that a lot of your air is linking through doors, windows, cracks give us a call and we would love to come give you an energy audit. We will inspects doors, windowns, sinks, plumbing, insulations on your attic and more.
Air ducts system- repair / Replacement
Your house or building has a network of air ducts, whose primary function is to transport adequately hot or cold air to the interior. A good system of air ducts depends greatly in its design, insulation capacity and connectivity.
